'Something Old,
Something New'
Kath Libbert's wedding and Valentines show, Something Old, Something New has got us in the mood for romance. You'll find the usual jewellery classics like diamonds and pearls, but there's also an innovative collection of work that transforms unlikely materials into fab accessories - like the rubber glove necklaces (pictured). Jewellery that's elegant, quirky and environmentally friendly? We likey.

'Something old,
something new'
AN 'alternative' wedding show is being held in Bradford this Spring, showcasing stand-out jewellery and accessories, for brides searching for something a bit different.
The 'Something Old, Something New' exhibition will run until May 4 at Salts Mill in Saltaire, featuring the work of a number of designers who fashion adornements from unlilkely materials.
Copper wire fascinators, carrier bags transformed into lace corsages and necklaces made from rubber gloves sit alongside concrete lace cake stands and hats in the shape of miniature wedding dresses.
Also on show will be 'Angel Wings' by Min-Ji Cho, an unusual necklace designed to be worn with a backless wedding dress.
Other exhibitors at Kath Libbert Jewellery, include textile designer Laura Marsden and Zoe Newsome, who is currently working with world-famous hat designer Phillip Treacey.

Alternative Weddings
There are other ways of standing out on the big day of course. Wear stilts. Parachute in wearIng a dayglo afro and ski boots. That would work. How about donning a spinning tiara that flashes
the words 'I Do' to your congregation at the big moment - good for those at the back and excellent for clarifying the situation.
However, at 'On', we prefer to do things with a little more subtlety. . .
When we say alternative, we don't mean your bridesmaids dressed as hobbits or a menu consisting of the dietary staples of Mogadishu. We mean pretty things, unusual things, dare we say it, (oh, get on with it - Ed.) discerning things.
Wedding accessory shopping is fraught with the cliched, the tacky and, let's be clear, the disproportionately priced. We've found four places of interest for the thoughtful bride-to-be who is looking for something just a little bit different...
