The Jewellery Makers

Our pick of the Local designers to watch this year

BEX BARDON

Elland-based designer Bex Bardon has been making jewellery for five years, drawing inspiration from irregular forms and textures in nature and beyond. She says, "I'm also very interested in punk style and my collections at the moment reflect this, from chunky chains and striking pieces to more delicate work which is beautifully feminine with a punk edge."

Her work is currently on display in the Alternative Wedding Show at the Kath Libbert Jewellery Gallery in Saltaire's Salt's Mill.

IAIN HENDERSON

Henderson established lain Henderson Design in 1996 and has work displayed in galleries across the UK. The Bingley designer is particularly acclaimed for his distinctive range for men. His unisex 'Union' rings which rivet steel to silver or gold are influenced by the time lain spent alongside his father in his workshop as a child and play on the striking contrast that can be achieved between steel and silver.

The Union rings, among other pieces, are currently exhibited at the Kath Libbert Jewellery Gallery
