Jo Hayes-Ward

Constructing jewellery from small building block elements, Jo Hayes-Ward creates intricate geometric and sculptural pieces with an architectural aesthetic.

The complexity of the work and the need for perfect accuracy particularly with interlocking parts has led Jo to pursue new technologies. Creating her designs in a virtual environment Jo employs rapid prototyping technology alongside traditional jewellery techniques in the production of her work.

Hayes-Ward works in precious and non precious metals, carefully considering colour and weight in the execution of her jewellery. Materials include 18ct yellow and white gold, stainless steel, aluminium and silver.

Jo is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and won the UK’s New Designer of the Year Award in 2006. She is also a recipient of the Craft Council Development Award.
