REBEKAH WILSON

As a mixed-media artist and self-professed material alchemist, my compulsive attraction to vibrant colour and intricate texture has heavily inspired this body of work which has been born out of a passion for experimentation and material exploration.

Each of my pieces are made primarily out of handmade and self-invented materials such as slime and latex based mixtures that contain anything from polystyrene and peas to orange peel and fake snow.

I am incredibly curious and fascinated by how a variety of ingredients can be combined, manipulated and controlled to create a multitude of varying results, each displaying their own unique patterns and textures. In creating this work, it has been my goal to encourage curiosity and interaction between the jewellery and the observer through my use of unorthodox materials and playful, abstract forms.
