Isla Christie

I am a Glasgow based jeweller, and a recent graduate of Silversmithing and Jewellery from the Glasgow School of Art. I use digital tools to explore the infinite possibilities of geometrical forms, and am captivated by the myriad ways in which these forms can be constructed, deconstructed and reimagined. Working in silver and paper, I have developed a method of ‘slicing’ digital 3D models into delicate items of jewellery made from layers of cut paper. My most recent collection of earrings and pins features kinetic forms which encourage playful interaction from the wearer. In this collection, I have produced an array of interchangeable elements, including front and back sections of earrings which can be rearranged in endless combinations.
